The overcrowding of trains during rush hour on the Gimpo Gold Line continues to cause discomfort for passengers.
At around 8 a.m. on the 20th, a male passenger in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, disembarked from a train at Gimpo Airport Station in Seoul’s Gangseo District, complaining of dizziness and nausea.
Mr. A had boarded at Gochon Station and upon arriving at Gimpo Airport Station, suddenly felt dizzy and sat down on the platform.
Earlier, at approximately 7:58 a.m., a female passenger in her 30s, identified as Ms. B, also displayed similar symptoms after disembarking at the same station and received emergency treatment.
Passengers on the scene witnessed medical personnel attending to the two individuals and reported that the train was extremely crowded at the time.
In response to the overcrowding issue during rush hour, the Gimpo Gold Line has deployed private emergency personnel at Gimpo Airport Station and taken immediate measures to ensure that affected passengers can rest.
A representative from Gimpo Gold Line stated, "Both passengers were stabilized on site and did not require transport to a hospital."
The Gimpo Gold Line is currently reviewing continuous measures to address the overcrowding of passengers during peak commuting hours.
There are growing calls for operational measures that prioritize passenger safety.
