Poland has marked a significant milestone in the field of space technology by launching its largest satellite, developed by domestic engineers, into space.

The satellite, named 'EagleEye,' was developed by a consortium led by Poland's largest satellite manufacturer, Creotech Instruments, and was launched into low Earth orbit on August 16th via SpaceX's 'Transporter-11' rideshare mission.

The 'EagleEye' satellite weighs 55kg and measures 55cm x 150cm x 90cm, making it the largest satellite ever built by Polish engineers.

This satellite is designed for Earth observation and is equipped with EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infrared) technology capable of providing images with a resolution of up to 1 meter.

The project was spearheaded by a consortium consisting of Creotech Instruments, the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK PAN), and the Polish engineering company Scanway.

Notably, the high-resolution observation telescope onboard the satellite was developed by Scanway, while Creotech Instruments developed the satellite bus and the computers and software required for operating the telescope.
