Hyundai Engineering, Along with University Student Volunteers, Carries Out Home Repair Volunteer Activity in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do

Hyundai Engineering carried out a home repair volunteer activity in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do, from August 18th to 21st, over a span of four days, with the participation of a university student volunteer group.

This volunteer activity was part of Hyundai Engineering's flagship social contribution program, the 'Gift House Campaign,' which aims to improve the living environment and enhance the safety of residents living in deteriorated houses.

The volunteer group comprised 12 Hyundai Engineering employees, 47 university students, and 10 professional technicians.

After completing practical training and safety education, they engaged in various home repair tasks for a total of 26 deteriorated households. The tasks included wallpapering, flooring installation, sink and gas stove installation, and lighting replacement.

The 'Gift House Campaign' by Hyundai Engineering began in 2015 and marks its 10th anniversary this year.

The campaign has consistently continued each year to help residents living in deteriorated houses to enjoy a more comfortable and safe living environment.

Additionally, Hyundai Engineering contributes to housing stability by providing modular homes developed in-house to vulnerable groups facing housing difficulties due to disasters such as wildfires, floods, and fires.

Over the past 10 years, the company has donated a total of 38 modular homes to 16 local governments across the country. Last year, they were awarded a plaque of appreciation for their efforts in repairing 16 households and donating two modular homes in Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, along with university student volunteers.

Through this volunteer activity, Hyundai Engineering emphasized its role as a socially responsible company, contributing to improving the living environment of the housing vulnerable.

A company representative stated, “We hope this home repair volunteer activity serves as an opportunity to improve the quality of life and housing stability for those who find it difficult to repair their homes,” adding, “We plan to continue to develop various social contribution activities that can grow together with the local community.”
