National Assembly and the business community gathered to discuss cooperative measures for economic revitalization and solving social challenges.
On the 23rd, Speaker of the National Assembly, Woo Won-shik, visited the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Jung-gu, Seoul, and held a meeting with Chairman Chey Tae-won and other key figures from the business community.
This meeting was organized to explain to the business community the importance of the 'social dialogue platform,' which Speaker Woo presented as a key role of the 22nd National Assembly, and to enhance mutual communication on economic issues.
Alongside Speaker Woo, major members of the National Assembly attended, while Chairman Chey was joined by 14 other chairpersons from KCCI.
Chairman Chey Tae-won stated, "In a situation where competition between countries in advanced industries is intense, our companies also want to do their best to secure competitiveness on the global stage," requesting support from the government and the National Assembly.
He also emphasized that the economic community, government, and National Assembly must work together to solve national challenges such as the climate crisis and low birthrate issues.
In response, Speaker Woo Won-shik said, "It is very positive that companies are making efforts to approach the public," and promised to strengthen cooperation between KCCI and the National Assembly.
He also highlighted that social dialogue is an essential element in resolving complex conflicts and stated that they will continue to communicate with the business community.
Meanwhile, in-depth discussions were held on policy tasks for strengthening global competitiveness and strategies for maintaining a technological edge in advanced technologies. KCCI shared future strategies by distributing the newly published book "First Mover Advantage" to the attendees.
